20th Annual Federation Charity Golf Classic Raises $30,000 for STARS and HALO Air Ambulance

The 20th Annual Federation Charity Golf Classic on August 12 at RedTail Landing Golf Club raised $30,000 for STARS and HALO Air Ambulance.  The event brought together members, sponsors, partners, and staff from across the industry for a full-day of golf, networking, and community connection, all in support of emergency medical services for rural and remote communities.

Hosted by AFREA, FedGas, and the Water Federation, this year's tournament was the first time the Water Federation joined as a co-host. The partnership reflects an ongoing commitment to collaboration across the rural utility sector, and a shared focus on supporting rural and remote communities.

Golfers teed off at 8:00 AM in a shotgun‑style start, with play running through the morning and wrapping up with a 2:00 PM BBQ lunch. The Water Federation team, Owen Bennett, Ed Osbourne, Eugene Wehlage, and Donna Wehlage, delivered an impressive performance, finishing third overall.

During the day, Water Federation staff were able to connect with golfers and sponsors alongside their fellow hosts from FedGas and AFREA, strengthening the industry connections that make this tournament a highlight each year. 

This year's tournament raised an incredible $30,000 for STARS and HALO Air Ambulance. These funds will help ensure that life-saving emergency medical transport remains available 24/7 for rural and remote communities across Alberta.
